- 原文: A new type of "high-level programming language" that seems really worth trying to make, is a language that gets compiled to Lean (or HOL, or...) that is specifically about making it as friendly as possible for a human to read definitions and theorems. Not the proofs - as all that matters with proofs is that the proofs are correct - just the definitions and theorems. The intended use case is that AI outputs a blob of proofs, and you're trying to make it as easy as possible for anyone reading the output to understand what the actual precise claims are that have been proven

- 原文: One pattern I find useful for working with LLMs is a nice long ramble session. Sometimes the LLM needs more bits to understand what you're trying to achieve, but you're too lazy to type them. In these cases I like to lean back, switch to /voice and just ramble for like 10 minutes, total mess, anything goes, full stream of consciousness. Sometimes I declare it up top, something like "switching to speech recognition sorry for any typos...". Sometimes I turn it into a small interview of a few turns. But I find that the LLMs are somehow very good at reconstructing long incoherent rambles and often their echo of your own tangle of thoughts comes out quite a bit cleaner than what you started with. The result is that you improve the mind meld and have to correct things less from that point on.

- 原文: While it's great for teams and departments to feel a strong bond of shared purpose, loyalty to a boss or department head cannot be allowed to conflict with loyalty to the organization as a whole. Fiefdoms are counterproductive and contrary to the values of an idea meritocracy.

- 原文: "But AGI is not the same as ASI (artificial superintelligence). To see the difference, let us zoom into what things might look like one year before the singularity. We also need to add a third line to the chart: the centaur (human + machine). An analogy here is chess. Machine surpassed the average human in the late 1970s, and surpassed the top human (Kasparov) in 1997. But human + machine continued to beat machine alone all the way until around 2017. What did the twilight of human + machine in chess look like? Actually, it did look like humans being relegated to more and more \"high-level strategic thinking\" functions, while bots managed the move-by-move. Very similar to vibe coding in 2026. Before we get to a point where there are no areas where our input is economically helpful, we will be in a regime where there are only a few such areas. And because we humans are scarce, those few areas will become the global economy's bottleneck - they will be the only thing you can't optimize down to near-zero cost (and latency), and so all our attention will go toward those tasks."

- 原文: "I was asked, how do I manage stress from economic shocks, geopolitical shocks, and all the things that are going on? While my typical approaches like \"pain plus reflection equals progress\" and meditation are highly effective, I’ll pass along another principle that I think is the best advice: The Serenity Prayer. I view this almost like a game. These macro things are happening, but there are also a lot of joyous things and choices that exist with us. It’s really up to me to navigate them. What can I control that's really important to me? What can't I control? I can't live forever, so I’m not going to get stressed out about that. But on the other hand, I can control certain things. Having that equanimity allows me to approach life in a way where I don't get hijacked. It is logical, real, and practical. Look around you. You’ve got wonderful things and things you aspire to. Don't get so attached. If you navigate your life well, you're going to be fine."

- 原文: Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go to my first-ever World Cup game, with my long-time colleagues/friends and "and their spouses). We were sitting in the corner area and had a quite good view of the goal! I present to you a 43 second multi-part drama filled with emotion: The initial promising-looking cross coming in, but looking overhit Nico Williams cleverly knocking it down at the back post into a dangerous area Ferran Torres striking it cleanly into the roof of the net The crowd rising as one (forcing me to stand up as well) The elation of the Spanish players racing off the bench to celebrate The dejection of the Argentinian players, their defense having finally been breached in extra time The elation of my Spanish colleague Oriol and his wife Meire next to me (he and I are both Barça fans, so it was nice to see a Barça player score the winning goal) The entire stadium reacting Whew!"
